– It is clear that it is incredibly nice and fun with my first two championship goals. Nice to secure the group victory, that is what we strived for and fought for, says Angeldahl after the match.
The Manchester City midfielder is far from a self-described match hero. In the autumn of 2020, she was poked from the national team before it turned around with two goals – do we recognize the pattern? – against Slovakia in the European Championship qualifiers.
“Shows strength”

Four goals in fixed situations
– Of course it is good for self-confidence to score goals. Have not had any shooting positions before, now I get two and then it is extra nice that they are also sitting, says Angeldahl.
Both goals were scored in fixed situations, similar to a total of four out of five Swedish goals. A strength, says Angeldahl.
– We are generally very good at fixed situations and are dangerous there. Unfortunately, we have not been as sharp now but today we show that it is a strength we have in this team. We had studied Portugal and one of my goals was a trained variant.
