Unexpected outcome about Brynäs after returning to the SHL: “They have cheated”

Brynäs is back in the SHL again after a year in the HockeyAllsvenskan.
They have also had a really good start to the new hockey season.
But now there are unexpected words about Brynäs after the start of the season.

There was only one season in the HockeyAllsvenskan after the big tears in Gävle when Brynäs left the SHL just over a year ago. They won both the regular season by far and were then unstoppable in the Allsvenskan playoffs.

Brynä’s return

The return to the SHL also got off to a very good start as Brynäs started with two wins in the first three games. The first home game this weekend resulted in a three-pointer directly against Frölunda, thanks in large part to the fine supporter effort in the stands.

Now Brynäs is praised by both the hockey profile Christian “Fimpen” Eklund and the previous player Mattias “Kolan” Karlsson in the podcast “Fifty Five”.
– Cool! It has been a long time since there was a draw in Läkerol Arena. Or, what is it called? Monitor ERP Arena. That damn name really stuck. When I think of Gävle, I think of Monitor ERP Arena, Fimpen says jokingly and annoyed.
– The gable link…, answers Karlsson.
– No, but it’s fun that there are moves in Gävle. Maybe it was when they knocked out Djurgården in the final that there was a bit of decent pressure, but here it seems to have been good. I’m very happy that Silfverberg gets to hang on too, says Fimpen.

“Good to leave the SHL”

Mattias Karlsson spent three seasons in Brynäs in the mid-2000s and sees a completely reborn team that has returned to the top flight again. Therefore, he makes an unexpected statement that it was good that the club had to leave the SHL last year.
– I think the year in the Hockeyallsvenskan has done Brynäs very well. I think a lot of fans have come down to earth a little bit. They don’t talk about SM gold anymore like they maybe did before, he says in the podcast.

Kolan, as he is called, is impressed so far but also does not see Brynäs as a typical newcomer in the SHL. Much due to many well-deserved returnees with NHL credentials who have returned to the club again.
– It looks pretty good if you compare it to other teams. After all, they have also received signings that a newcomer should not be able to do. They have cheated a little, one might say, he admits.
– Well cheated, answers Fimpen quickly.
– Yes, very good cheating, says Karlsson.
