Underage suspected driver in Hoforscrash

It was during the night of Monday that a car drove off the road, overturned and crashed on a residential plot in Hofors. Three 15-year-olds and an 18-year-old were in the car.

Police would not say the exact age of the driver. However, they confirm that the person is under 18 years of age.

In connection with the incident, a report was drawn up about negligence in traffic and causing bodily harm. Now there have also been reports of illegal driving and permitting illegal driving.

The witness: “Then the police grinned”

According to the witness and villa owner Leif Hammarström, none of the people in the car should have been affected, when the police tested for alcohol on the spot, and the young people themselves should have claimed that they were not driving fast.

– They told the police that they were driving at 70 kilometers per hour, but then the police just grinned. This has gone much faster than 70, says Leif Hammarström.

Only one of the young people was taken to hospital by ambulance, slightly injured. The rest had to seek medical attention if necessary.

Update 7/17:

The mother denies

In an interview in Arbetarbladet says the mother of the 18-year-old who was in the car. She says she is surprised by the police’s information about an underage driver.

– It was my son who was driving and he is 18 years old. It wasn’t the boy who is 15, the mother tells the newspaper.
