The UN General Assembly officially launched the MVI, the Multidimensional Vulnerability Index, on Tuesday, 13 August 2024. For more than 30 years, small island developing States, victims of climate change, have been asking for an indicator that would show their vulnerability and could be used to obtain more international financing.
