According to UN election experts, Venezuela’s election authorities did not follow the rules when publishing the results of the country’s presidential election in July. The lack of detailed results, they say, is unprecedented in modern elections.
The comments of the election experts were published on Tuesday, but they were dated August 9. The dispute over the result of the presidential election has led to the arrest of at least 2,400 people in Venezuela and 23 people have died in protests.
