UN calls for nuclear to North Korea

The United Nations (UN) urged North Korea to continue dialogue with key parties for the sustainability of peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

UN Secretary-General Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was “deeply concerned” by North Korea’s adoption of a new law on the use of nuclear weapons.

Speaking at the press conference, Dujarric urged North Korea to continue dialogue with key parties for the sustainability of peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

“North Korea continues to ignore UN Security Council resolutions to cease such activities, continuing its nuclear weapons program, including developing missiles using ballistic missile technology,” Dujarrric said. said.

On September 8, the North Korean Parliament passed the law regulating the use of nuclear weapons. This law authorizes the military to “automatically” launch nuclear strikes on enemy command centers if North Korea faces a “nuclear or non-nuclear threat”.

In addition, the law states that nuclear weapons can be used if the country and the people experience a “catastrophic crisis”. (AA)
