A heavy snowstorm has moved in over the Norrland coast during Thursday evening.
According to SMHI, there may be up to 30 centimeters of snow until tomorrow Friday, including in Umeå where the emergency services have taken several measures.
– We have checked a few track wagons and have been in contact with the County Administrative Board. People should stay at home if they don’t have to go out. A warning is put out because it is a warning, says Lars Mårdvall, operations leader for the rescue service in Umeå.
An orange warning has been issued for parts of Västerbotten’s and Ångermanland’s coasts, where strong winds are also expected.
In addition, there is a yellow warning for the surrounding stretch from Sundsvall up to Kalix.
