The drug Sunrise-3 has already been developed, but is now in the testing phase. Professor of infectious diseases at UMC Utrecht Marc Bonten: “The research has two goals. One is to determine whether this medicine is safe for people. And we think so, otherwise it would never have gotten this far. And two, whether it works and actually prevents that people enter the hospital with Covid.” Together with 330 other test locations, UMC Utrecht is conducting research into Sunrise-3.
