Thirteen years of gestation for Avatar 2

In 2020, James Cameron explains that the scripts for the four Avatar sequels have already been written, but also that the performance scenes for Avatar 2, 3 and the first part of 4 are already in the box. The director also justified himself on the time it took him to release the sequel to Avatar. “People don’t understand how complex and huge this process is. It’s like making two and a half huge animated films. Usually, a big animated film takes about four years to make.”
