Ullmark kept a clean sheet despite an unexpected problem

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Eight minutes into the third period, Linus Ullmark got into trouble when one of his skate rails came loose.

— It has not happened before. It was strange, I had no idea what to do. I didn’t know the rules either, says Ullmark after the match.

The referee cannot blow the whistle just because the goalkeeper loses his skates, states Ullmark.

— I’m just glad they didn’t shoot. It’s so much easier when you stand up.

Teammate Jeremy Swayman stepped in temporarily in his place and made a save in the two minutes and 28 seconds Ullmark needed to resolve the skating issue.

Ullmark himself faced 17 pucks during the match.

Hampus Lindholm scored Boston’s first goal, just over seven minutes into the first period. He also accounted for an assist.

San Jose didn’t have a shot on goal until ten minutes in, when Ullmark saved a Jaycob Megnas shot from the blue line.

Charlie McAvoy, Nick Foligno and David Pastrnak also scored a goal each.

Boston has thus won five games in a row.
