Turkey’s demands for Sweden to join NATO are unreasonable.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson conveyed that message during a panel discussion at the defense conference People and Defense in Sälen.
– They have asked us for things we cannot agree to, said Kristersson.
Kristersson was also clear about his hope that Sweden will send the Archer weapon system to Ukraine.
Kristersson stated that he spoke with Ukrainian President Zelenskyi the day before yesterday. Then he confirmed that the ninth Swedish aid package will be followed by “more and powerful ones shortly.”
However, whether the advanced Archer weapon system will come in the next support package or not is unclear.
– With the last aid package, it was not at the top of Ukraine’s wish list. Archer is and remains a top priority from our side, Kristersson said.
