On Thursday, Ulf Kristersson will go to Brussels for yet another extra summit about the situation in Ukraine. On Friday he will come back and then will have to meet the Swedish party leaders and must to discuss the prevailing security situation.
“Sweden reaches by NATO’s target of 2 % of GDP on defense spending and we will continue to strengthen the defense. Nothing is more important to me than Sweden’s and Swedes’ safety, ”he writes.
Furthermore, Kristersson says that on Monday he was sitting in a meeting with the National Security Council as a result of “the events of recent days”. During the meeting, the future support for Ukraine must have been discussed and how Sweden should equip the upset security situation in Europe.
“Great uncertainty and a lot of work left,” Kristersson states.
The last few weeks have been characterized by world diplomatic drama. Ulf Kristersson participated in several meetings together with EU managers and world leaders to discuss Ukraine.
He has repeatedly accused his support to Ukraine. After Friday’s failed meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyj and Donald Trump on Friday, he wrote:
