The residents of Kozarovici village, who were exposed to the attacks, told the AA correspondent about their experiences during this period.
“WE WERE DEAF FROM HORRIBLE SOUNDS”
Village resident Nella Gonçar said that Russian troops entered their village at the end of February and used their houses in attacks.
Gonçar said, “We were like a shield for them. We begged them to leave the village, but they didn’t even let us leave the house. They kept the military equipment in the courtyard and they were shooting from here. We slept with gunfire for about a month. We were deafened by the terrible sounds.” said.
Stating that his house burned down after a while due to the missile hit, Gonçar said, “38 houses in our village were bombed and burned, just like my house. Now I am staying in a house on a side street. Everything was destroyed. We need help.” he said.
Explaining that some of his relatives live in Russia, Gonçar said:
“They were visiting before the war, we were eating at the same table. After the war started, no one asked about our situation. I don’t even want to see them. Because there are so many people killed in our village. Some of the civilians were found dead, some were missing, and some were taken prisoner and taken to Russia. “We’ve learned. We didn’t call the Russians here. I still don’t understand from whom they came to save us. It’s not our fault.”
“WE LAST DIE FROM HUNGER”
The old woman Vera, who did not want to tell her surname, also explained that they stayed in the cellar for more than 20 days due to the attacks, saying, “We almost died of hunger. We had terrible times. The cellar saved us, but our house burned down.” she said.
Vera said, “I ask myself the question ‘why did they attack us’ and I cannot find the answer. Did we do something bad? My brain does not perceive this. We were living in peace and tranquility in Ukraine. We did not need to be saved from anyone. We love our country.” he said.
