Many volunteers help with the reception of the refugees. A lot has to be arranged in the first few days, such as registration with the municipality, medical help and living allowance. Reinaerde works together with the municipality and authorities such as the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the Netherlands Disability Care Association, the Care Office and fellow organizations. “If all that has been arranged, and there is peace, then the intention is for people to be independent and then someone will come by for an hour every day, is the intention.”
