President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy put Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on the sanctions list, who declared that Russia recognizes the lands annexed from Ukraine on behalf of Russia and that Russia supports the Ukrainian attacks. According to the decree signed by Zelensky, Bashar Assad’s assets in Ukraine, if any, will be frozen and his commercial activities will be blocked.
THERE ARE 300 PEOPLE ON THE LIST
The decree signed by Zelenskiy included a total of 300 people including Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnus, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad, Syrian and Russian business people. The signed decree will be in effect for 10 years and all names on the list will be subject to these restrictions.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow in the past few days, conveying his support to Russia during this meeting, saying that they consider the lands annexed from Ukraine to be Russian territory. (UAV)
