Natali, Valera and their daughters Angelina and Michelle lived in Kiev when the war in Ukraine started. Immediately in that first week they jumped into their car and initially fled to Poland. There they were given the opportunity to travel on to the Netherlands.
Eventually, they soon found Judith and her husband and their four children. They have a farm in Woudenberg and with the help of all Woudenbergers, they were soon able to furnish an apartment for their guests above the modern stable.
Since then they have tried as best they can to lead a quiet life that mainly revolves around the schooling of the children and helping other Ukrainian families. In total, more than 60 Ukrainians live with Woudenberg families.
RTV Utrecht keeps in regular contact with Natali and Valera and follows what they are going through.
