Military forces and weapons from Belarus have moved ever closer to Ukraine, according to the country’s intelligence service. According to Ukraine, Belarus’s arms race is taking place under the pretext of a “military exercise”, something Ukraine interprets as a threat to the country’s security.
Now the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is warning of consequences if one does not retreat.
“We call on the country’s armed forces to cease hostile actions and withdraw their troops from the state border of Ukraine,” they write in a post on X.
“Will take all necessary measures”
Furthermore, they write that Ukraine has never taken any “hostile measures” towards Belarus, but at the same time warns that it will do what is necessary.
“In the event of a border violation will take all necessary measures for self-defense, and that all troop concentrations, facilities and supply routes in Belarus will become legitimate targets for the armed forces of Ukraine.”
“We warn the Belarusian officials against committing tragic mistakes under Moscow’s pressure,” they write.
