It was this summer that Ukraine took the whole world by storm when the country’s military forces invaded Russian soil. Now, five months later, they have launched another counter-offensive. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, an entire Russian battalion may have died in the fierce fighting. But while Ukraine has been defending ground in Kursk, it has been reported that Russian troops have in turn taken ground in eastern Ukraine at a pace not seen since the first months of the full-scale invasion.
