Ukraine has ordered a hundred Patria AMV armored vehicles from Poland, says the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Patria’s multipurpose vehicles are manufactured in Poland under a license granted by Patria, in which case they are known as Rosomak. A total of 690 of them have been produced in Poland.
The vehicles ordered by Ukraine are manufactured in Poland. The order is financed with funds received by Poland from the EU and the United States, which are intended to support Ukraine.
AMV or Rosomak vehicles can be equipped for many different purposes. They can have, for example, a gun turret for a 30-millimeter rapid-fire cannon or a twin-barreled mortar launcher. They can also function as crew transport vehicles, in which case they can accommodate eight soldiers in addition to a three-person crew.
