Ukraine – lost three villages on the front to Russia

Russia has taken control of three frontline villages in the Donetsk region.
At the same time, the Ukrainian commander Syrskyij states that the enemy is suffering “maximum losses”.
“Units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine moved to new borders west of Berdychi, Semenivka and Novomykhailivka, to preserve their lives and health,” writes Syrskyij on Telegram.

The fighting along the front line in Ukraine continues and Ukrainian commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyij describes the situation as “dynamic”. Russia has recently attacked in several directions and control over individual positions has changed from day to day.

“Fierce fighting continued along the front line this week,” writes Syrskyij on Telegram.

Russia is betting on an offensive west of Avdijivka

Syrskyij states that the most intense fighting is now taking place in the direction of the villages of Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv in the Donetsk region.

“The enemy has placed up to four brigades in these directions and is trying to develop an offensive west of Avdijivka and Maryinka,” writes Syrskyij.

The Ukrainian troops were forced to withdraw from three villages in the area now controlled by the Russians. The reason the Ukrainians withdrew was to preserve the lives and health of the soldiers who fought in the area.

“The enemy made some tactical gains in these directions, but they gained no operational advantages,” writes Syrskyij.

At the same time, he states that the Russian forces are being damaged “to the maximum” both in terms of military equipment and personnel. Due to the heavy fighting in the area, forces will also be rotated to allow combatants to recover.

Several dead in attack on Odessa

At the same time as the fighting continues along the front in the eastern parts of the country, Russia continues its attacks on other parts of Ukraine. On Monday evening, Russia attacked the port city of Odessa in southern Ukraine.

Four people died when a ballistic missile struck the city, according to the region’s governor, Oleg Kiper. Another man died as a result of a stroke linked to the attack.

“32 people were injured, 25 are in hospital. Among them two children and a pregnant woman. The girl, who is not even five years old, is extremely badly injured,” writes Kiper.

Local media write that a law school has met. Photos from the scene show how the fire has engulfed the entire roof. A Russian attack is said to have also been carried out against the Kharkiv region on Monday.

– Many have been injured, they are all being helped by the healthcare system, says President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
