(Finance) – Intesa Sanpaolo has adopted an initiative aimed at donating 10 million euros to support measures of solidarity and hospitality towards the population of Ukraine. The action promoted by the Bank will take place with the support of the work of local and international bodies which will be identified shortly.

“Intesa Sanpaolo has always found its roots in the communities, in the people of the territories in which it operates. As a large European banking group and as the only Italian bank present in Ukraine, we intend to give a concrete sign of closeness to the Ukrainian populations affected by the serious humanitarian emergency” so he motivated the intervention Carlo Messina, Managing Director and CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo.

“This initiative joins those already activated in support of the people involved in our Pravex, colleagues and colleagues who have never stopped supporting the country, opening branches and ensuring banking services in situations of exceptional gravity.
We are close to them and their families and we thank them once again. I also thank our people in Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova for what they are doing in terms of welcoming Ukrainian colleagues “.

“The decision – continues the CEO – adopted together with President Gian Maria Gros-Pietro is aimed at donating 10 million euros to support projects of solidarity and hospitality towards the affected populations. The humanitarian emergency in progress, which increasingly affects the populations of the areas involved, determines an urgent nature of our initiative, to provide a prompt and meaningful response, able to ensure concrete and immediate help and at the same time to intervene towards future developments.

“Together with this initiative we are evaluating the launch of a fundraising campaign through our non-profit platform For Funding with the intention of combining our further intervention with what we will be able to mobilize in support of
affected populations “he concluded.
