Ukraine From Independence to War by Alexandra Goujon

Ukraine is at the heart of the news. In Ukraine, from independence to war published by Le Cavalier bleu, Alexandra Goujon paints the portrait of a country of contrasts, but which assumes its diversity. Lecturer at the University of Burgundy and teacher at Sciences-Po, she talks with Sylvie Noël.

Ukraine has been at the center of the news for several weeks, multiple meetings and phone calls which include, depending on the day, Joe Biden, Vladimir Poutine, Emmanuel Macron, Olaf Scholz or Volodymyr Zelensky. The country, independent since 1991, has been fighting for its territorial integrity since 2014 and fears the Russian-Belarusian military maneuvers which will take place from February 10 to 20 on its doorstep.
