The aim is to finalize the dossier in view of the adoption, next Friday, of the opinion by the college of commissioners on the compliance of the three countries to the EU membership criteria.

“The Commission worked swiftly and diligently to formulate its opinions as soon as possible, within a few weeks, not years”, underlines a spokesperson for the European Executive, specifying that “once the Commission has adopted the opinions in with regard to the requests for membership of the three countries, the decision on the future steps of the EU path will be in the hands of the member states “.

Barring surprises, the European Commission should give the green light to the recognition of candidate country status a Ukraine and Moldova, the outcome of the Georgia. THEThe dossier should then be discussed at the summit of European leaders scheduled for 23 and 24 June.

Meanwhile, more than 1,500 civilians were reportedly killed in the Kiev region alone during the Russian occupation, to date 1,200 bodies have not been identified: 75% of them are men, 2% children and the rest women.
