Tougher measures against revoked driving licenses in the EU
Motorists who lose their driving license due to traffic offenses must be able to be stopped more quickly also in other EU countries.
– Traffic safety in this respect is already good in Sweden, but now it is being strengthened throughout the Union, which is positive and welcome, says infrastructure minister Andreas Carlson (KD).
The new rules are supposed to close a loophole where those who have had their driving license revoked in a country other than their own have been able to continue driving in certain other EU countries.
Now, however, the country that revokes the driver’s license will be required to quickly notify the country where the driver’s license was issued.
In order for the new rules to come into force, however, an agreement with the EU Parliament is first required.

Svantesson: Risk of deeper recession
Svantesson: Risk of deeper recession
Large EU countries such as Germany and France have major economic problems, states Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) at a press briefing on “the economic situation in a troubled environment”.
In addition, the United States will be in big trouble if Donald Trump does what he says he will do after he is sworn in as president next January. Among other things, mass deportations of immigrants would create problems, since many of them have jobs in the United States.
– If they leave, they also leave their jobs, says Svantesson.
According to the finance minister, Sweden is economically and politically stable. But the situation in the outside world can cause that.
– There is a risk that we will have a deeper recession than we expected. That risk is primarily called the European economy in the short term. That is, if things are even worse in Germany, France and other countries.
– The second is about inflation. It can take off.
