Ukraine says it has developed an “invisibility cloak” for its soldiers, which prevents the wearer from being seen in thermal cameras.
– The cloaks prevent thermal radiation from being seen by Russian thermal cameras and also by drones that are equipped with thermal cameras, says Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
British newspaper According to Inews the cloak was developed by a materials scientist from Bucha who “wanted to respond” to the war crimes committed by Russia in his hometown.
The construction of the cape is said to be compact, and it weighs 2.5 kilograms. The cloak also does not burn, and it protects against high temperatures and rain. The material of the cape is said to feel similar to the undermat of a tent.
The exact composition of the cloak’s material is a closely guarded secret. Ukrainan says it consists of nanotechnological compounds such as graphene.
