A large explosion and fires have been seen in the Tver region of Russia following a nighttime drone attack by Ukraine.

According to local residents, the drone attack targeted an ammunition depot in the town of Toropets, Russian Telegram channel Astra tells.

Ukraine made an attack on an ammunition depot, a Ukrainian intelligence source tells the news agency Reuters. According to the source, Iskander missiles, flying bombs and artillery ammunition were stored in the warehouse.

Governor of Tver Igor Rudenya has ordered a partial evacuation of the area.

According to the Reuters news agency, NASA satellites have detected heat sources in the area and the explosion has also been detected by seismographs that measure earthquakes.
