Ukraine and Russia blame each other for missile strikes in

Russia blames Ukraine for missile strikes that killed more than 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war. Ukraine, on the other hand, says that Russia is trying to cover up its own war crimes with its accusations.

The Ukrainian army denies that it launched a missile attack on the separatist region of Donetsk.

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously accused Ukraine of carrying out an attack that would have killed 53 Ukrainian prisoners of war at the Olenivka penal colony. In addition, 75 prisoners and eight employees were reportedly wounded. Earlier, Russia said 40 prisoners had died.

Ukraine blames Russia for the attack.

– This is how Russia tries to hide the crimes it has committed, the torture and murder of prisoners, the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in a statement.

The claims could not be verified

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukraine carried out the attack with a Himars rocket launcher.

The Ukrainian prisoners were captured in May, when Russia captured the city of Mariupol.

It has not been possible to verify the claims of either party about the other’s guilt.
