While France was in first place in the UEFA index for the current season at the end of last year, the eliminations of PSG and Lille in the Champions League, but also of Monaco in the Europa League or even Rennes in Europa League Conference are hurting France. According to the latest ranking and thanks all the same to the qualifications of Marseille and Lyon, France is now in 3rd place for the season behind the Netherlands and England and remains in 5th place in the general classification.
Each season, the UEFA index is closely scrutinized by the clubs, but also by the countries. It is thanks to this classification that the championships can qualify one, two or three teams in the group stage of the Champions League. For several years now, England, Spain, Italy and Germany have been in the first four places while France has stagnated in 4th, threatened by Portugal.

What is France’s UEFA index?
France is currently in 5th place and should not evolve this season due to the chasm that separates 5th place from the other 4. Nevertheless, due to the very positive results this season, the UEFA year-round index could be a record. Over the current season, France (11,916) is the third most successful nation behind England (13,571) and the Netherlands (12,600) but ahead of Italy (10,285), Germany ( 10,214), Spain (9,285) and Portugal (7,916), its first pursuer in the UEFA rankings, with whom it is widening the gap.
