Uefa: 3-0 win for Romania and a fine of 128,000 euros – “Kosovo is responsible that the match was not played in full” | Sports in a nutshell

Uefa started disciplinary proceedings for the Nations League game between

The European Football Association informs that the match between Romania and Kosovo, which was interrupted during extra time in the Nations League, has been judged as a 3-0 victory for the home team.

Last week, on November 15, the Soccer League of Nations saw a sad final episode in Bucharest, when the Kosovars fell to the Romanian spectators.

Kosovo’s players left the field in a goalless situation, with only a few seconds left in the extra time.

The away team did not accept the “Kosovo is Serbia” shouts and considered them racist.

In its decision, Uefa considered the Kosovo Football Association to be “responsible for the fact that the match was not played in full” and announced that the team would lose to Romania with the goals of the suspended match 0-3.

The decision means that Romania will advance to Serie B as group winners, while Kosovo will go into the playoffs in second place.

The Football Association of Kosovo was also fined 6,000 euros for “inappropriate behavior of its team” after five players from the team received yellow cards in that game.

Uefa fined the Romanian Football Association 128,000 euros for disciplinary violations and ordered that the team’s next home match be played behind closed doors due to racist chants from Romanian supporters.

Romania was also sanctioned for “provocative political messages inappropriate for a sporting event” and for rioting during the Kosovo national anthem.

UEFA also fined the Romanian FA for throwing objects, lighting fireworks and using a laser pointer.

Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008. Serbia has not recognized Kosovo’s declaration. The countries do not play each other in UEFA and Fifa tournaments.
