Various trade unions, including FNV and CNV, have declared two nationwide strike days, which started this morning. Regional transporters warn of disruptions in the timetables due to the strikes. Carriers such as Arriva, Keolis and Qbuzz cannot guarantee that the timetable will run smoothly today. “There are now an average of two to three buses per minute, normally there are ten. So the failure rate is quite high,” says FNV director Ed Salome. According to Qbuzz, 60 percent of drivers are still driving. Nevertheless, the carriers advise to look for other transport or to postpone the trip.
