Boxing star Tyson Fury, 36, announced his decision to quit a month after he lost a rematch to Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk.
British heavyweight boxing great Tyson Fury has announced on his own Instagram account that he is ending his boxing career.
– I’ve had a great trip. “I’ve loved every minute (of boxing) and now it’s over,” Fury declared.
Fury, 36, lost to the Ukrainian in a world title fight a month ago For Oleksandr Usyk.
The losses to Usyk were the only defeats in Fury’s professional career, which began in 2008 and included one draw against the U.S. Deontay Wilder against in 2018.
Fury has previously announced his retirement, but after that, after a couple of months, he quickly returned to the ring. The Brit has 34 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw in his career.
Fury turned pro in 2008. He won all his fights in the following years and in November 2015 in the World Championship match Volodymyr Klitschko. He simultaneously held the championship of four federations (WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO).
After the world championship, Fury was sidelined for health reasons for three years and lost his championship belt. He made a successful comeback in 2018 and held the WBC world title from February 2020 to May 2024.
