Authorities have issued a Class 3 warning, on a five-point scale, in effect until 4 o’clock this afternoon, local time. Afternoon trading in Hong Kong will also be canceled unless the typhoon warning is lifted before then.
The stock market in Japan is also closed on Monday, but due to a public holiday.
In China, however, trading is ongoing and there the Shanghai composite index is just before 10 o’clock local time at minus 1 and the Shenzhen composite index at minus 0.6.
