The statement said that the place thought to be directly affected by the storm was Çongming district, north of the city center. It was stated that 9,318 people living in the district were evacuated.
It was reported that all flights from Pudong and Hongqiao airports in the city were canceled as of 20:00, and that Yangshan Deepwater Port in the city center would be evacuated. More than 600 planes will not be able to take off due to the measures.

According to the China Meteorological Administration, Typhoon Bebinca, carrying winds of up to 151 kilometers per hour, will affect the country’s eastern coast starting tonight. The typhoon is expected to bring heavy rainfall.
