Two young men are sentenced for the bombing in Mjölby

On the night of March 23, an explosive device exploded at an apartment building in the Västra Lundby residential area in Mjölby. No people were physically injured, but the entrance was damaged and the fire that started was extinguished by the emergency services.

Imprisonment for 2.5 years

The 19-year-old is sentenced to prison for two years and six months for public destruction and violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods. He must remain in custody until the prison sentence is carried out.

Closed youth care

The other, who has now reached the age of 18, is sentenced to closed youth care for nine months for public dangerous devastation. He must also remain in custody until the sentence is carried out.

The previously arrested was himself the target of the explosion

The judgment mentions that one of the residents of the apartment building was arrested and detained shortly after the detonation, a 45-year-old man whom the police already knew. But when information came that the bombing was instead aimed at the arrested person, he was released and the suspicions were dismissed.

Drug debt to gangs
