A man in his 20s is sentenced to two years in prison for raping a drunken woman on Öland. He must also pay SEK 180,000 in damages, local media reports.
The woman had been out with friends last summer when she went home, because she started to feel bad because of her alcohol intake. She has a bad memory of what happened next, but has memories of being in an apartment and that a man assaulted her there, writes Barometern.
The man who is now being sentenced first denied having sex with the woman at all, but later he claimed that it happened on the woman’s initiative. This means that his information is considered by the court to have low probative value.
