Two-year-old Elvira’s incredible mushroom find – see the pictures

It was when the family The Mayan in Haparanda was out picking mushrooms when Elvira, almost three years old, found a 1.5-kilo porcini mushroom.
– I have strong muscles so it’s going well, says Elvira in a clip that her mother filmed.

There was great mushroom luck when Elvira was out picking mushrooms with her sister Agnes and parents Helena and Tommi this weekend.

In the forests around Haparanda, she found a flawless boletus mushroom – weighing 1.5 kilos, something that SVT Norrbotten was the first to report on.

It was only when grandma pointed out how unusual it was to have such large mushrooms that are not eaten by worms that Tommi Maijanen understood that Elvira’s find was something out of the ordinary.

– When we took the picture, we didn’t really understand that it was quite unusual to find such large and well-preserved mantis mushrooms. We are often out in the woods and fields and our girls, Agnes and Elvira, are always with us, says Tommi Maijanen.
