A two-year-old child died of blood poisoning after waiting too long in the emergency room, reports SVT Väst.

It was last year that the child’s guardian sought help for the child, who had an illness from before. They were sent home, and when they came back they had to wait for just over an hour before they got help. The child later died after being cared for in the intensive care unit for a few hours.

Now the Inspectorate for Care and Care, Ivo, is criticizing Queen Silvia’s children’s hospital in Gothenburg. Ivo states that the care of the child was delayed due to deficiencies in the assessment of the patient, and that it was not done in a safe manner.
