Loving yourself to be loved, sexual diversity, but also the invention of new love terms like “swouple”; Generation Z (18-24 years old) discusses new love trends. Interviewed by the research firm iVOX for the French dating application Fruitz, she also reveals what type of relationship would suit them for two thirds of them. We tell you everything.
Young singles from Generation Z (18-24 years old) reveal new love trends to us. Questioned through an online survey by the iVOX research firm for the French dating application Fruitz, these young people have a modern and uninhibited vision of love.
Long-distance relationships, an opportunity for 3 out of 5 young people
This is the most surprising information from this survey: 66% of young people questioned say they are ready to travel miles to find love. Moreover, for 41% of them, crossing the national barrier would not be a problem, quite the contrary. Indeed, for three out of 5 young people, long-distance relationships are seen as a chance to establish unique and intense emotional bonds. Could there be a link with the period of confinement experienced by this generation?
Self-love, an essential key to the quality of a romantic relationship
Personal well-being is everywhere, in the media, on social networks and this is felt by the younger generations. According to the survey conducted by iVOX, Generation Z is very interested in personal development. Moreover, 67% of respondents invest in their physical, emotional and mental well-being. An essential element for their future romantic relationships. Thus, 88% of young single people think that self-love has a beneficial impact on the quality of a romantic and romantic relationship. Loving yourself to be loved therefore appears fundamental for Generation Z.
A unique and taboo sexuality
The watchwords of Generation Z: take responsibility and be kind. This is what the results of the survey demonstrate. In fact, 77% of respondents dare to say without hesitation (and without shame!) that they met via a dating application. When it comes to intimacy, Generation Z advocates a unique sexuality specific to each person. Penetration, fellatio, sodomy or even the use of sex toys appears normal in the eyes of young single people. They also say they want a more inclusive society where “strict” categories – heterosexual or homosexual – are no longer the norm. Sexual diversity desired by 68% of young people questioned.
