Two Swedish citizens dead after shooting in Brussels, Reuters reports.

  • Belgium’s national crisis center has called a crisis meeting due to the shooting.

    Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo together with the country’s Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Justice are participating, the authority at X.

  • The Swedish Football Association’s head of security, Martin Fredman, says that it is unclear whether the match will continue.

    – Now we are in a situation where we don’t know if the match will be finished. Right now we are safe and secure inside the arena. That is the reason why we play football out there, he tells Sportbladet.

    – You simply don’t want Swedes to go out on the town now, he says.

    Can the match be broken at half time?

    – Of course it can do that. It is the mayor’s and UEFA’s decision.

  • The shooting happened just five kilometers from the football arena where Sweden is playing a European Championship qualifier against Belgium.

    Aftonbladet’s reporters on the spot saw how Fredrik Reinfeldt, chairman of the Swedish Football Association, was escorted away from the stands by the national team’s security officer.
