Two Swedish citizens have been injured in an accident on the island of Lanzarote, according to local media. On Monday, a car ran into two families on the island in the Canary Islands. A total of six people were injured and a five-month-old baby has died.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs knows that a Swedish woman in her 30s and a Swedish woman in her 55s, natives of Västra Götaland, have been injured in the Canary Islands,” they write in a comment to TV4 Nyheterna.
The other family that was affected is said to be from the UK. Two of them are said to have been seriously injured, while the rest received minor injuries.
Two days of mourning have been declared on the island.
According to Sky News the driver is a 23-year-old British woman who lives in Lanzarote. She is said to have tested positive for both alcohol and drugs, citing reports.
