During the night of Wednesday, two explosions occurred near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen, where hand grenades are suspected to have been used.
After the incident, three Swedish citizens were arrested, according to the police. Two of them were arrested on a train during an operation at the central station in Copenhagen.
At 11 o’clock on Thursday, two of the Swedes, 16 and 19 years old, will be brought before the arresting judge in the Copenhagen district court, writes the Copenhagen police on X.
They are suspected of illegal possession of weapons and of having caused the explosions.
Grip released
The third arrested Swede has been released, reports say DR. It is not clear whether he has been removed from the investigation.
The motive behind the explosions is still unclear and it is too early to say whether the embassy was the target, according to Danish police.
– It is a serious incident, and we are still investigating it, says Brian Belling, deputy police inspector at Copenhagen Police, to DR.
Killed also in Stockholm
The Copenhagen police stated during a press conference on Wednesday that they are investigating whether the explosions have any connection to the shooting at the Israeli embassy in Stockholm on Tuesday evening.
According to information to SVT Nyheter, the deed must have been carried out on behalf of the Foxtrot network. It is also a hypothesis that the police are said to have – based on the approach.
