Two suspected explosive finds found in northwest Stockholm – two arrested

On Wednesday evening, the police were alerted to two suspected dangerous objects, one in Tensta in northern Stockholm and the other in a location in the Järfälla area.

– I cannot go into why we consider them to be suspiciously dangerous, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.

– Nothing has detonated.

According to DN these are suspected explosive charges.

“…at this time, the object is not considered to pose any danger to the public and the location is cordoned off.” writes the police on their website.

For the find in Tensta, two suspects were arrested during the night of Thursday for preparation for public destruction and violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods.

Bomb disposal is investigating

The first alarm was received at 20:45 about a suspected dangerous object in an apartment building in Tensta.

– I cannot go into where the find was found, but it was not in an apartment, but in another place in the house, says Daniel Wikdahl.

The item must be examined by the police’s bomb squad. The police classify the case as attempted public destruction and a violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.

Fortegen about the investigation

The second alarm came in shortly before 10 p.m. in an outdoor location in the Järfälla area. The police are tight-lipped about where the find was found, and they do not yet want to comment on how the case was classified.

Do you know anything about why the findings were placed there?

– It is not something I can answer yet because it is part of the investigation, says Daniel Wikdahl.

It is unclear if anyone has been arrested

No one was injured and no material damage was found.

Has any suspect been arrested?

The police have cordoned off both locations until further notice.
