The police are investigating two suspected arson attacks in Stockholm and Huddinge during the night.
The first alarm came in at midnight, when a fire broke out in an apartment in Hässelby in western Stockholm.
– There are many indications that it was someone who threw in some kind of flammable liquid, says police spokesperson Rebecca Landberg.
A person who was in the apartment had to be taken to hospital for a check-up. The person was helped by the emergency services to get out of the home, but is not said to have been seriously injured.
At 03.45 there was an alarm about a fire in a residence in Huddinge. Several people who were in the residence were able to get out themselves. No one was injured, but the house burned down.
Both incidents are being investigated as aggravated arson.
– They investigate it first and foremost as two separate events, but they also look at whether there are connections between them or connections to the ongoing violent conflict, says Landberg.
