SOHR states that “two loyalist soldiers were killed in an Israeli airstrike on military positions southwest and southeast of the capital.
The organization also stated that Israeli robots destroyed weapons caches belonging to pro-Iranian militias and Lebanese Hezbollah.
The state-run Syrian news agency Sana said earlier that the country’s air defenses intercepted “hostile targets” in the Damascus area.
“The Israeli enemy carried out a robotic attack from the occupied Golan Heights that wounded one soldier and caused material damage,” Sana wrote.
During the decade or so that the war in Syria has been going on, Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks in the country, primarily targeting Iran-backed forces, Lebanese Hezbollah soldiers and the Syrian army.
Israel does not usually comment on these raids, but has repeatedly announced that it will not allow its archenemy Iran to gain a stronger foothold on Syrian soil.
