After a brawl in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, this Friday, a person was seriously injured, but his vital prognosis is no longer in jeopardy since this afternoon. Four individuals are in police custody, including two soldiers.
Friday June 21, at around 2 a.m., on the sidelines of the Fête de la Musique, a man was seriously injured with a knife during a brawl, Agence France Presse (AFP) learned from a police source. A total of six people were involved in this fight. The seriously injured man was transported to a Parisian hospital. The same evening, his vital prognosis was in jeopardy, which is no longer the case since this Saturday noon. The other four victims were more lightly injured.
An investigation opened for “attempted voluntary homicide”
The events took place in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, at rue Didot, in front of a building. Four people are in police custody and an investigation for “attempted intentional homicide” has been entrusted to the 14th arrondissement police station in the capital, the Paris prosecutor said today. “The investigations are continuing in order to determine the progress exact facts and the degree of involvement of each of the accused” specifies the prosecution.
A soldier allegedly used a knife
Friday evening, the police were called to a fight on a public highway. Five people, injured, were evacuated by firefighters. According to the first elements of the investigation, two soldiers approached a woman, before the situation escalated. An altercation took place with this woman’s companion and a friend. “One of the soldiers then took out a knife” and injured “several people,” the same source told AFP.
The two soldiers were arrested for intentional violence with a knife. The companion’s friend and a fourth person were also taken to the police station on Avenue du Maine, in the 14th arrondissement. All were taken into custody.
