Two serial killers are ravaging American cities

Five homeless people have been shot in Las Vegas on Friday, according to the AFP news agency.
The incident comes less than a week after Los Angeles police issued a warning that a serial killer is on the loose in LA and has allegedly executed three homeless men, according to
CBS News.

Five people were shot in a camp for the homeless in Las Vegas in the United States on Friday, reports the AFP news agency. According to local media, two of the victims are said to have been killed and three injured in the incident.

The shooting comes less than a week after three homeless people were shot dead in Los Angeles by what police describe as a lone gunman.

Police Chief Michel Moore warns during Friday that a single person is said to have shot three men, on three different occasions, all of whom were homeless. CBS News reports. The youngest victim was in his 40s and the oldest just over 60 years old.

The shootings occurred at three different locations in Los Angeles over the course of a week.

Called in reinforcements

The police in Los Angeles have now called in reinforcements from police stations in several nearby cities, among other things, to find out if there are more victims of the serial killer, according to the police chief.

– We have called in additional specialized investigators and we have made our forensic department ready so that evidence that is collected is also quickly processed and analyzed in an effort to identify the person we believe is responsible for these three murders, says Michel Moore.

Mayor Karen Bass is urging homeless people in Los Angeles to stick together, not sleep alone and seek shelter.

Not related

But despite the fact that the events in Las Vegas and Los Angeles happened close in time to each other, no connection is currently suspected between the murders and we have to wait for what the investigation shows, according to Jason Johansson, at the police in Las Vegas.

– This is quite different so I am not inclined to say that it is related, he tells AFP.
