The emergency services received the alarm just before two o’clock on Sunday afternoon. Two units were sent directly to the scene and they were helped by the sea rescue, which assisted with rescue floats. According to the police, it was a person who made it onto the ice and saw the accident who raised the alarm.
– The two people had been in the water for 15 minutes before we got them up, says Patrick Johansson.
Both people were transported by ambulance to hospital and were in need of care.
– They were severely chilled.
An ambulance helicopter had also been called to the scene but did not need to be used.
