Two people arrested drugs and weapons seized during search

Norfolk OPP have charged two people with drugs and weapons offenses following a search of an Adams Street residence.

Members of the Haldimand/Norfolk street crime unit searched the residence on Thursday (July 20) and found suspected cocaine, suspected fentanyl, Canadian currency, ammunition, prohibited weapons, replica firearms and drug paraphernalia. Officers also took two people into custody.

Police have charged a 35-year-old Norfolk County with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order; six counts of failing to comply with a release order; possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000; four counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possess of a weapon, possession for the purposes of trafficking – cocaine; possession for the purposes of trafficking – opioid/fentanyl.

Police have also charged a 35-year-old Norfolk County woman with unauthorized possession of a weapon, four counts of possession for a dangerous purpose, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession for the purposes of trafficking – cocaine and possession for the purposes of trafficking – opioid/fentanyl.

The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on September 5, 2023.
