The traffic accident alert came just before 5pm on Saturday. The people are said to have been hit on Långströmsgatan.
The two were taken by ambulance to hospital. Later in the evening, the police announced that a woman in her 40s died as a result of her injuries. Relatives have been notified.
For the other person, the damage is serious, but stable, the police write.
Two arrested
The police assess that someone intentionally ran over the people.
At 9:30 p.m., the police were able to arrest two people after starting a special incident.
Two people are arrested for murder and attempted murder in connection with the incident on Långströmsgatan earlier on Saturday. Two more people have been arrested for aggravated protection of a criminal.
During the evening, the police were on site at the crime scene to, among other things, collect witness information.
