Two pension funds pay pensions later in November: here is the expected date

Millions of retirees will be impacted by this exceptional schedule.

These are the kind of transfers that are handled like clockwork. But, sometimes, the schedule forces things to shake up. Retirees will see their habits be turned upside down in November because pensions will be paid on different dates than usual. Around 13 million people are affected by these payments which are delayed from the usual schedule.

As every year, pension funds, basic or supplementary, publish a pension payment schedule. Thus, it is possible to know well in advance the date on which the transfers will arrive in your bank account. The basic pension, paid by the National Old Age Insurance Fund (CNAV), is sent most of the time on the 9th of the month.

The supplementary retirement pension from Agirc-Arrco is transferred to the accounts around the 1st of each month. The same goes for the payment of the Carsat Alsace-Moselle (Retirement and Occupational Health Insurance Fund), this basic pension specific to the departments of Haut and Bas-Rhin, as well as Moselle.

However, this year, the month of November is special. In fact, the 1er November – All Saints’ Day – falls on a Friday, just before the weekend. Therefore, this calendar particularity leads to a delay in the payment of pensions, all organizations being closed on that day. If the banking system functions normally, no one will work in France.

Faced with these calendar requirements, Agirc-Arrco has chosen to postpone pension payments to the following Monday, i.e. Monday November 4. On that day, the organization will validate all the transfers to be made. These will therefore arrive in retirees’ accounts the same day or from Tuesday 5, depending on banking deadlines. Carsat Alsace-Moselle has made the same choice and is therefore rejecting transfer orders.

No panic, therefore, if the basic pension is received in a part of the east of the country, nor even worry if the supplement for former private sector employees is received later. This is the first and last time this year that such a late payment will take place.
